MSwab®

MSwab® is a liquid-based specimen collection and transport device designed for the collection and preservation of clinical specimens from the point of collection to the laboratory. It supports molecular diagnostics, bacterial culture and viral culture from a single specimen.

Combining FLOQSwab® technology with a proprietary transport medium, MSwab® enables efficient specimen collection and release while providing a homogeneous liquid specimen for downstream testing. The medium helps stabilise bacterial and viral nucleic acids during transport and supports subsequent bacterial and viral culture.

MSwab® supports bacterial and viral nucleic acid detection, including HPV molecular testing, as well as bacterial culture of aerobic and facultative anaerobic Gram-positive microorganisms and viral culture of HSV-1 and HSV-2. MSwab® also supports direct nucleic acid extraction and both manual and automated laboratory workflows. Its proprietary non-toxic and non-flammable transport medium provides practical advantages for the safe handling, storage and transport of specimens.
